What should I expect during my first appointment?

Rachael will take a detailed history of your symptoms including any relevant obstetric and gynaecology history. You may also discuss the impact your symptoms have on your relationships, lifestyle and hobbies.

This information will direct what Rachael may need to assess in order to create an appropriate treatment plan.

You will then have a physical assessment of the pelvic, back, muscles and nerves to see what the underlying cause may be. You may be offered an internal pelvic floor assessment to assess pelvic floor muscle function. You do not have to have this examination and you are welcome to bring someone to accompany you if you wish.

At the end of the appointment Rachael will dicuss a treatment plan with you.

How long is my appointment?

Appointments are an hour long to be thorough in taking a history, assessing and getting you started on a individualised program.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

It would be useful if you could bring the following items to your appointment (if relevant):

  • Any relevant medical letters and or investigation results.
  • A list of medications.
  • Leggings/short and strappy top or bra to be assessed in.

Is my appointment confidential?

As a health practitioner we have a legal duty to keep information about you confidential. Information will only be shared with your consent with people who have a genuine need for it (e.g. GP, consultant referral, class teacher or external fitness instructor).

Can I pay by card?

Payment for the first appointment is taken at the time of the appointment via cash or card. Subsequent follow ups can be made and a 15% deposit is taken to confirm the booking. This is refundable if your appointment is cancelled in accordance with the cancellation policy. Should you give less than 24 hours notice or not attend this 15% deposit will not be refundable.

What happens if I cancel?

Please give a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellations. This ensure that the treatment slot can be made available for other patients. Should you not attend or give less than 24 hours notice to cancel you will lose your deposit.
